The mold in the refrigerator / freezer. . .?
Hello everyone … I have a second hand fridge in the fall …. It is an extra refrigerator in the garage that I have … Well I just got around to cleaning last week. Somehow the door was closed and I opened it, was covered in that black mold. Were washed to up really well with a rag, mr. disinfectant cleaner, and a little magic erasers … But there is something there that Styrofoam could not get black mold off of …. My question is: Since I have cleaned everything I can see, do you think the refrigerator and freezer are safe? I am concerned that there may be mold where I can not see that (as that internally). What are your thoughts? Thank you. . . .
You can clean as thoroughly as you want, but the fact of the matter is that if some of polystyrene foam insulation has been exposed to mold process, always return. Black mold is often toxic and can result in long-term health affects and / or death. I personally recommend buying a brand new refrigerator if you can afford.
