Black mold / I should be worried.?
I was re-floor attic today and went down with the black powder on the lip right under my nose. Was there for about 4 hours or so, I think. There have been no fire damage on the wood up there, but there black mold in the house. How I can tell the difference of black mold and charred wood powder? And … If it is black mold, that would be enough to cause respiratory distress or other symptoms poisoning? Thanks.
Exposure can cause respiratory distress, but should be temporary. The distinction between the carbonized wood powder and molds could only be seen under the microscope. DO NOT use bleach in a closed area to treat mold. Get some patents mixture into the hardware store and follow the instructions Use with caution and wear a mask, please.
