Mold removal?
I live in a condo and recently heard a comment neighbor has black mold in her room, then I was looking for something in my closet and found the walls had black mold on them. And it was in some of my formal dresses. I tried cleaning it with bleach, and took a lot of it, but not everything. What is the best way to deal with this problem … I have heard everything from the drywall cut out or use a product called KILZ will that work? Is it dangerous to my health? How so? I can dry clean the clothes or are they just crap?
KILZ works on mildew stains, but does nothing to the mold. In fact, the oil-based KILZ is actually food for mold. The mold must have a water source that must be stopped before the mold can be removed forever. After you clean the mold with a good cleanser and use a bleach mixed with a fungicide. Bleach alone will not kill mold, it just makes it white for a while. The plate gypsum will probably need replacing, but only as a last resort, like the back of the drywall is covered, probably. If the source of the moisture is removed there the possibility that the mold die. Not sure how to clean their clothes. Sorry. Good luck
