What is a non-toxic, safe method for cleaning mold and mildew in my shower? ?
I'm pregnant and am trying to avoid using chemicals in the house, such as breathing the fumes can have an effect on a fetus (not to mention it is not too good for me either!) There are many chemical cleaners out there to mold, but I'm looking for something non-toxic and safe. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You could use a vinegar and baking soda mixture. However, depending on the amount of mold, it may take a little work. I just added to the bleach solution, get a mask (pharmacy), rubber gloves and make sure you are fully clothed (like your skin to breathe in more of the nose), mix bleach and water in a spray bottle. Spray down the shower everything, especially in the shower doors, if any. Allow the bleach to do its thing (several hours.) Follow with a vinegar and water solution in a spray bottle and spray down the shower all over again. Then, rinse well under running water. Also, a very important addition to any home is an excellent cleaner air. I have a number of them around my house. I put one in the shower with me every time I shower. Helps reduce moisture and dry the shower and the bathroom very quickly later. Allow scrolling. It will be beneficial to minimize the fumes of chlorine as well.
