What is the best way to refinish my bathroom problem?
I recently bought an old house, after we learn to move that the person who bought it had a real quick paint job covering up the bathroom. Now it is peeling badly and we have this mold or mildew black spots which are formed on the walls. I tried to sand down, but the room is poorly ventilated and I can not stand being in the dust for long. I tried a chemical stripper, but also its application in the ceiling, I'm getting on me and get chemical burns and the few disc again me out of the room quickly. A hot air gun takes forever. What I can do to quickly remove and secure the layers of paint and mold on the walls and ceiling?
As interior designer often I have this problem to be addressed, this is the method I usually use and works all the time for me. 1. Always wear rubber gloves 2. Spray Ceiling with a solution of 1 / 2 cup of chlorine bleach, 1 / 3 cup powdered laundry detergent and 1 gallon hot water (remember to squeeze excess) 3. Using a ladder of steps carefully friction in the affected area with a gas washing, and / or old toothbrush for small areas affected or ceiling and wall meet. 4. Rinse with clean water. 5.Once dry, you can use an anti-rust paint. This solution may be sprayed on the shower walls, glass doors curtains.Just, skip the detergent for clothing. Use the mixture in a spray bottle to clean after a shower daily. Simply spray on the walls etc. and stop until the next shower, no need rinsing. Be sure to keep the windows open in the room while you are working, as you will need plenty of ventilation. In your case, however, since you have poor ventilation fan try using some may have a little air circulation, you can use to have face masks, when you receive dominant just take about 10 min. rest. Sorry to know that the frustration they are experiencing but I hope this works for you.
