What are symptoms of long-term mold exposure?
I have been working in a building for several years that is not exactully environmentally clean. It was supposedly tested for black mold and/or moisture in the walls and neither was found. I think the report stated there may be mold but not the toxic kind and also tons of dust mites (my office had the most). What kind of problems, if any, could arise from working in this type of environment? I have had numerous health issues, but unsure if it is from the workplace and if so, how do I prove it?
Constant exposure to mold can lead to health problems, including allergies, asthma, ABPA, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and more. You may experience symptoms ranging from nothing, to sneezing, itchy eyes/nose/throat, runny nose, chronic cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, nausea, diarrhea, rash, headache, fatigue, malaise, difficulty concentrating, and more.
If you have any of these symptoms, keep in mind that there may be other reasons. Long term exposure to certain chemicals, poor ventilation, and other allergens can lead to similar symptoms (sick building syndrome).
