Mold in the basement of more than 10 square meters: we simply remove panels, or the need to have tested for the first time? How much $ $ $?
Areas of mold (black and gray some) in a basement that flooded three times this spring. We are working to fix the water problem. We are planning remodel anyway, so the old coating is not a great loss, but I do not throw tons of mold spores in the air if they are toxic. My inclination is to hire an independent testing lab, find out what type of mold that we have, then use your remediation plan to hire a contractor to deal to it. Are we likely need to clean first and then delete the damaged areas? Or is the removal itself a viable means to solve the problem? Can a regular contractor to do this? How much should I expect the test cost? If you are not suffering from any physical problem related clearly now (which has been there for months, I guess), will we need to vacate the house while remediation takes place? My husband only wants to hire a demolition team scheduled to remove the paneling, but I do not feel comfortable going that route. informed opinions appreciated.

Our cost was 1100 for testing and rehabilitation, including cleaning of all ducts home and not including the replacement of drywall. I have to tell people that tore mold removal drywall even using masks. I do not know if this is a lack of respect for their workers or because even the deadly black mold is not a huge problem. I will say our regular contractor – fixing drywall – had nothing to do with the removal of the wall with mold. Do not clean the wall before being retired.
